Planning & Zoning
The Planning & Zoning Commission reviews proposed amendments to zoning ordinances, site plans and plat applications, and also makes recommendations to the Council regarding the current and future development of the Town of Central.
Mission Statement:
The Planning Commission will assist Town Council and the residents and visitors it serves with land and building use guidance while exercising compassion, critical thinking, and compromise to improve quality of life, economic development and to enrich all elements of diversity within the Town.
Vision Statement:
The Planning Commission will serve the citizens and visitors of the Town of Central by making recommendations to the Town Council on land and building uses through the Zoning Ordinance; will recommend modifications to the Zoning Ordinance to evolve with the needs of the Town and the people it serves; and will actively support the Town Council in their development and constant improvement of the Comprehensive Plan. This comprehensive process should support the future prosperity of the Town while balancing the importance of our history, our future, our quality of life standards, and the betterment of all citizens and visitors of the Town.
Planning Commission Committee
The Planning Commission meets on the 3rd Tuesday night of each month at 6:30pm. The committee consists of five members who live inside town limits. Our current planning commission members are:
