The Town of Central is accepting applications for a Full-Time Utility Billing Clerk. This position plays a vital role in serving both individual and business utility customers by ensuring efficient account management, accurate billing, and courteous customer support.
Primary Responsibilities
The Utility Billing Clerk will:

Open and close customer utility accounts.

Accurately accept, process, and record payments.

Issue adjustments and generate work orders as needed.

Receive, respond to, and return customer phone calls.

Provide in-person customer service at the front desk.

Perform cashier functions with accuracy and attention to detail.

Carry out a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support office operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer use, including basic office software.

Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public.

Accuracy: Ability to process financial transactions and clerical tasks with precision.

Teamwork: Cooperative attitude and willingness to work closely with other staff.
Compensation & Benefits

Starting Salary: $28,210 annually, with potential adjustments based on qualifications.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
