Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer skills, strong customer service and communication skills. Qualifications include High School Diploma/GED equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a related field or a combination. Assistant Clerk of Court
Performs clerical duties in court of law: scheduling court cases, auditing files to ensure accuracy and consistency within the court records, prepare files and forward documents and case files, prepare and maintain the dockets of scheduled cases, collection of payments for fines.
Shall have the power to set and accept bonds and recognizances and to issue summonses, subpoenas, arrest warrants, and search warrants in all cases arising under the ordinances of the municipality, and in criminal cases as are now conferred by law upon magistrates. Provide on-call coverage for Town of Central.
Must complete a training program and pass certification pursuant to standards established by the South Carolina Supreme Court. Must attended annually the number of approved continuing education hours in criminal law, ethics or other subject matter as required by the South Carolina Supreme Court.
